Fareed Zakaria thinks we’re safer now … from whom?

Safer from whom, Fareed?

Al Qaeda was never the enemy.

The enemy is, and has always been, Washington itself – the entire infrastructure of the National Security State.

It was the national security state that created and trained Al Qaeda. It was the national security state that failed to uncover the plot before September 11, 2001. It was the national security state that devastated two nations and murdered more than one million people in a vain attempt to change the subject.

It is common to answer the Moron’s claim that he prevented any further attack on the American people by noting his failure to foil the deaths of 3000 person on September 11, 2001. But, what are we to make of the much more laughable claim that we are safer now after having poured trillions of dollars over the last 60 years into an unaccountable national security apparatus which not only failed to prevent 9-11, but actually trained and equipped those who put it in motion?
